End Acne. Noxzema Facial Wash Review

I remember when I was very young, around the age of 5 or 6; my older cousin would take me and my younger cousins into the bathroom and put Noxzema on our faces- to clear up acne. She’d apply the stuff to her face, and we’d walk around the house with Noxzema masks on, feeling like we were in a spa receiving a facial. About 14 years later I haven’t stopped applying the facial wash.

There are a slew of things I love about this product, but the first thing I like is the feeling. The tingling sensation on my face lets me know its working. I know other brands state this, and some do have a tingle, but Noxzema actually works. If I go too long without it I feel like my face is slowly becoming infected with germs (though I wash my face everyday). Plus there are other ways you can apply Noxzema. They have the traditional blue colored tubes and then they have the more modern plastic bottles that you squeeze. They even have a bottle where the soap comes out like those soap dispensers in public restrooms.

The smell, feel, and success I’ve had with Noxzema prove why it’s been around for so long. I have been loyal to this stuff ever since those long times ago when my family and I put some on to feel better about ourselves or to get rid of acne.

End Depression, Receive Music, Get Boss Headphones- Review

I’m a lover of music, it drives away my depression. You could take my home, my clothes, and everything I won, but I’ll cut someone about my melodies, harmonies, and chord changes. Take away all I have and a song will remain in my heart, a hum, a whisper, or a shout will always escape me. So imagine my absolute delight when a client who I write for bought me a pair of Bose QuietComfort headphones, I suppose as a bonus. I get paid to review items on a regular basis, so I figured I’d say thank you, take the headphones, and see how they worked.

Talk about top quality, and for a whopping price of $330 after taxes, I’m sure my client must own his own pair. The sound from these headphones is so clean and crisp, and there’s a function on them that has noise-canceling circuitry and I must say it works very well, but without it, like most Bose headphone, the ear-cups have soft cushions that successfully seal off noisy outer environments from my ears. When I turned on the noise cancellation, the noise was drowned out even further. This is a plus for me when I’m working (writing) and just want to listen to my music and no other distractions to take up my time.

The major thing I loved about the Bose QuietComfort earphones is that the bass is so distinguished. With the cushioned ear-cups, I felt like I was in a sound-proof room listening to my favorite musical artists performing just for me. For every con there is a pro with these headphones, but I list a few of the cons as well. These headphones have a life-line of about 35 hours. When the batteries in the headphones go out, your musically experience is over. But don’t fret; you can pick up two AAA batteries that fit in one of the headphones. I used them while traveling from Ohio to Atlanta and they played beautifully with no problems. I did, however, have to get new AAA batteries before I left to come back home, but what a long time to wallow in silence, bordering on the edge of depression, huh?

It’s up to you whether you’d like to pay over $300 dollars for a pair of headphones. To speak for myself (that’s why I wrote this review), the earphones do irritate my ears after wearing them longer than an hour, but that- and the retail price- are small amounts to pay if you might listen to or write music for a living, or need to distinguish the sounds you’re hearing. Hey, if you just want it for pleasure, to drive away all of your depression, it’s well worth it.

No Cash Advance: Monster dot Com Review

The amount of people showing up in the unemployment line lately has almost quadrupled, causing lots of Americans to seek cash advance loans. That’s why it’s slightly difficult to think that online job classifieds have anything to offer the unemployed, or those individuals seeking to supplement their income. It is true that somewhere around 500,000 job loses were announced for the month of February, but compare that number to over millions of Americans with jobs and you realize that it doesn’t necessarily spell out depression, though we are in a recession.

I’ve gone to several job websites and Monster dot Com has to be the best one I’ve visited. There were lots of sites I’ve visited that had nothing but job postings from months ago. We’re in a recession! Who gives a crap about jobs listed months ago? In my opinion, anything posted before February 2009 should be deleted from those site’s pages. Monster dot Com does keep their postings up for a few months, but they’re constantly posting new jobs. A co-worker of mine informed me that when he was looking for employment a few weeks ago (before he found the job he’s currently employed at), he said he submitted his resume to four companies on Monday and by Tuesday he’d had two interviews secured. Talk about fast! Though we both stay in the Toledo, Ohio area, jobs are just as scarce here as they are in Detroit, Michigan. That’s makes me feel less fearful about the job market here or anywhere else in the United States.

Please believe me, beautiful people, the economy is down, but it’s not out. My cousin recently bought almost $40 worth of reading glasses online, and he only makes about $624 a month! So people are still making money and purchasing. Check out Monster dot Com as soon as you can. The site is easy to navigate through (that’s why I always go back), and instead of searching forever, you type in what search criteria you want to choose from, press “enter” and look for a job. While Monster dot Com is better than lots of other job websites (and I got my current work through the website) try and apply to as many jobs that relate to your occupation of field of experience as possible. Give it some time and the jobs will be calling you back… At least they do at Monster dot Com, so you just might not need those cash advance loans afterall.

Stephen King: The Gunslinger- The Dark Tower 1

When reviewing one of Stephen King’s novels, I must make sure I stick to the subject and not veer off into a rambling bundle of prose. I must admit that Mr. King is a literary hero of mine. His creations spark life and horror into all those items I once found safe, such as clowns, dogs, nurses, dead animals, credit cards and even toys. That’s why I was so trusting to engage myself in one of the most fabulous fantasy novel rides since Harry Potter.

The Gunslinger- The Dark Tower: Book 1 is 300 pages, and is the first novel from Stephen King’s series “The Dark Tower.” The novel seemed to be a little short, and I saw the newest edition to the Dark Tower collection, was sitting on a shelf, looking like it weighed 700 pounds. Actually, it’s around 700 pages- I know, I checked- and can you believe I’ve only just finished one book in the series?! But luckily for you, you wont have to use your credit card to purchase it. The price for hard copy is a little over $25.

I have read and re-read the afterword from the volume, and I was surprised to find out that it took the author 12 years to complete the entire series. While an undergrad, Mr. King wrote the first sentence to the Dark Tower series, and from what he says, it rang forever in his mind. That sentence is: “The Man in Black fled across the desert, and the Gunslinger followed.” That’s genius before your very own eyes. The fact that he kept the story fresh in his mind, while working on many different projects speaks of his genius, patience, and passion for his craft.

The Gunslinger, the Man in Black, Jake, Allie, and all of the other characters – hell, the entire world he crafted- is worthy of future films. The characters and environments were 3 dimensional beings that seemed like individuals or places I’ve passed some time in a dream. There is truly no one better. This first installment keeps us on course, with a desire to continue and read thousands upon thousands of pages filled with great prose- and to think, we didn't have to use those credit cards afterall.
